B is for Baby Knits

Image
Melina came 3 weeks ahead of her self.  She came full swing, unexpectedly.  But we did her baby shower just the weekend before. Here is what we knitted and crocheted for her.  She is so loved and waited for. This blanket was done in crochet in Caron Cake for hats, mix of Cotton and viscose with a cotton lining done by mom, to make it soft to the touch | Esta frazada fue tejida a crochet en una mescla de Algodon y viscosa de la marca Caron Cake, con tela al reverso en algodón para que sea suave al tocar...

Staying home Monday

Image
I usually proclaim Mondays to be the day where we discover everything the goblins do through the weekend at the office when no one is looking.  It is the only explanation that makes sense since every Friday office people leave their desks clean. But today, home is the best place to be! To recharge, to place order in my mind and to organize what is coming and how to tackle the spring cleaning that we absolutely need. So far I have cleaned and organized the desk and all of its pen goodness, to the point that my laptop can be set on top to write this post.  Neat right? I have started a sweater for my sister's benjamin (meaning the last born) And finaly  have also cooked.  Chili is a comfy food that makes us happy at home - you can find the recipe HERE Quedandome en Casa un Lunes Por lo general, proclamo que los lunes es el día en que descubrimos todo lo que hacen los duendes durante el fin de semana en la oficina cuando nadie está mirando. A lil bit of learning

Image
DYI theme Makeup was never my strength but lately I watch lots of tutorials and this one absolutely made it super easy to follow. My recommendation in makeup brands is always those either vegan or not animal tested.  A bit difficult to say which brand as every country has its own accessibility. **** One of my other fav DIY is growing plants from seeds, how cool is this avocado tree? Resolutions...

Image
...I bet you are so busted on this one! A lot of people make resolutions at the beginning of the year in hopes to keep them and make a change for that year and on.  It is a bit sad to see those resolutions go to the garbage right after January or if you are a bit more committed in February. I personally choose to live by a word as I said back on this instagram post , but although I do not choose a resolution, I do try my very best to make a change on something. This year I wanted to do more of what I like in terms of knitting and crocheting, just to enjoy it and not really for commitment or because someone order something. Resoluciones/propositos... ... Personalmente, elijo vivir b...

Not the winter blues

Image
#Colours #Colores Researchers say that Feb is the month where the winter blues pay the yearly visit to make sure you remember that is very cold outside (North hemisphere) and that by now if you bought with a credit card your Christmas presents will be seeing the reality of your financial miss behave back in December. But not this gal!! I usually start buying my Christmas presents in May/June by cash or order online with the money upfront, so in February I have nothing to be regretting myself about.  Even when it comes to the weather I'm very content with the snow and the beautiful scenery. Colors are a nice way to brighten up the hues of winter for those that do not enjoy the grays, blues and dark.  You can change the pillows of the couch or a bright sheet on your bed.  You can always knit or crochet a nice blanket in a beautiful spring color to bring a smile to your face.

Crescendo

Image
Hello all, As stated on a previous post, I have been MIA because of healing and time.   But here I am back at it with the latest project! I love the word crescendo, means a sound that get louder by passing time, starts slowy and gets bigger by the second. This shawl is like that, starts small with the same stitch but as you progress goes bigger and bolder, making an statement when finished. This was done in 100% cotton.  For my sister’s friend mom that is battling ALS and spends a lot of time at the hospital.  Means a lot to her and I can say no to my lil sister, she is more my kid than my sister.

Vintage knitting

Image
Vintage knitting is always something we knitters enjoy.  Whether we buy patterns or see a piece on a television show and we want to copy it, we do our best to try to make it happen. A few years back I bought quite a few patterns with a vintage flair.  Most of them from Alana Dakos from Never not knitting .   I have all her e-books and also a few of her individual patterns.   Among those I have a magazine published in 2012 that she contributed - a vintage collection - Jane Austen Knits I personally love this edition, it is fill with knitting goodness that I don’t have time to knit but that I keep because I never loose hope of knitting one day.   There is a pattern that is called Pleated Neck Scarf that now you can also find in ravelry as an individual pattern that I hope to knit eventually.  Let’s hope for this year!! And now talking about vintage, how about all the patterns showed in the Outlander serie?! - have you seen them?!  I ca...
